Kristy Scheffenacker
Kristy brings over 20 years of experience as an ACE-certified personal trainer and former professional cyclist to BJJ's Fight Fit coaching team.
While she currently serves as a Training Specialist for the government, her career has been defined by a transition from elite athletics to education—serving as an educator at both the high school and higher education levels. Throughout these professional shifts, fitness and training remained her constant lifelong passion which led her to continue to coach part-time in some capacity throughout her career.
Prior to her work in education, Kristy operated a successful in-home personal training business for over a decade while competing at the highest levels of cycling. A three-time MABRA Champion, she raced professionally for the Altarum national team, Colavita-Bolla Womens Cycling Team, and Team Snow Valley. Her pro cycling career highlights include the National Road Racing Olympic Trials, the USA National Criterium Championship, and the prestigious Wachovia Liberty Classic.
Kristy’s athletic journey led to a collaboration with Ray Lewis and Spinervals creator Troy Jacobson to help develop the "No Limits" and "4th Quarter Grind" Spinervals training series - low-impact high intensity workouts designed for team sports athletes in the off-season.
Outside of cycling, she also developed the Ray Lewis 52-Day Fitness Challenge, a program designed to bring professional-grade fitness innovation and intensity to the everyday person. Using a customized deck of cards to build overall strength and cardiovascular health, as well as tap into everyone's inner athlete through power, speed, and agility work - the program made high intensity fitness accessible to all in their own home.
Kristy is excited to bring her background in training and education to BJJ's Fight Fit program to help members build a functional engine and a strong athletic mindset.
